The short version
- Within India, retail packs go by courier and usually arrive 2 to 7 working days after dispatch. Bulk orders go by road and are scheduled with you. Orders for delivery abroad go by air or sea freight, and depend on the buyer holding the import permits the destination requires.
- There is no flat shipping fee on the website. Delivery is a fixed amount stated in your quotation, and it does not go up after you accept.
- Delivery dates are estimates, and we also give a latest delivery date. If we miss it, other than because of an event beyond our control, you can cancel the late goods and have a full refund.
- If goods arrive damaged, wrong, short or faulty, tell us and we will replace them or refund you, as you prefer. Please report damage and shortage you can see on arrival within 48 hours (retail) or 7 days (bulk and export), with photos. Opened or used packs cannot be returned just because you changed your mind.
This summary is a guide. The numbered clauses below are the policy.
1.About this policy
1.1This policy applies to every The Composta order sold by Nutrify Private Limited. It forms part of our Terms of sale and Export terms. Cancellations and refunds are covered in our Cancellation & refund policy.
1.2We sell by quotation. You send a quote request, we reply with a written quotation, and an order exists once you accept it and we have received the payment it asks for. Everything below applies from that point.
2.Delivery within India
2.1Retail packs are sent by courier and usually arrive 2 to 7 working days after dispatch. Bulk orders go by road, are dispatched within 5 to 10 working days of the order being confirmed and payment received, and are scheduled with you. A bulk order can be collected ex-works from our unit if the quotation says so.
2.2These times are estimates. Weather, road conditions and the courier can affect them, and we tell you if we learn that your delivery will be late. They do not take away your right to a refund for late delivery, which is described under Late delivery below.
2.3There is no flat shipping fee on the website. Before we quote, we work out the delivery cost to your address, and the quotation states it as a fixed amount with any taxes on it. The total in the quotation is what you pay. We do not add to it after you accept, unless you ask us to change the order, such as the address or the quantity, in which case we send you a new quotation first.
2.4Please give a complete delivery address and a phone number that will be answered. If delivery fails because the address is incomplete or no one is available to receive the goods, the cost of redelivery is yours, and we tell you the amount before we redeliver.
3.Late delivery
3.1Each quotation or order confirmation gives a delivery estimate and a latest delivery date. If we have not given you a date in writing, the latest date is 7 working days after dispatch for a retail pack, and the date we scheduled with you for a bulk order.
3.2If the goods have not been delivered by the latest delivery date, you may cancel the order for the goods not yet delivered and we will refund what you paid for them in full, including the delivery charge. Write to us as described under Contact below. You do not need to give a reason beyond the missed date. If the goods reach you after you have cancelled, we collect them at our cost or tell you how to dispose of them.
3.3This right does not apply where the delay was caused by an event beyond our control, such as a flood, a road or port closure or an act of government. If that happens we tell you promptly and agree a new delivery date with you. If we cannot deliver at all, you are refunded in full under our Cancellation & refund policy.
3.4For orders for delivery outside India, delay is dealt with in the Export terms and in your quotation.
4.Delivery outside India
4.1We ship by air or sea freight and state the route, the price basis and the timing in your quotation. The Export terms apply to these orders.
4.2We quote for buyers in the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Australia and Canada, and for other countries on request, but we do not treat any destination as routine. Many countries restrict or prohibit soil-type and manure-based products such as vermicompost, or require a permit, a registration or a health or plant certificate before the goods may enter. Whether goods can be imported depends on the destination and on the buyer.
4.3Before we accept an order for delivery abroad, we ask the buyer to confirm in writing that they hold every import permit, registration and certificate the destination requires. The import permit conditions in our Export terms set out what we need and what we can supply. We cannot promise that any shipment will clear customs.
5.Customs and import rules
5.1Import rules for soil amendments and fertilisers differ by country and change from time to time. Please check what applies to you, or ask us before you order. Duties, taxes and customs charges in the destination country are paid by the buyer unless the quotation says otherwise.
6.Check your delivery
6.1Please check the goods when they arrive. If a sack or pouch is torn, leaking or damaged, or the quantity is short, take photos or a short video before you open or move it, and note the damage with the courier or driver if you can. Keep the packaging until your claim is settled.
7.Damaged, wrong, short or faulty goods
7.1Tell us within 48 hours of delivery for retail packs, or within 7 days for bulk and export orders, about any damage, wrong goods or shortage you can see on arrival. Write to support@thecomposta.com or message us on WhatsApp, with your order reference and the photos.
7.2Some problems do not show on arrival, such as a quality problem that appears only when you use the goods. You can report those within a reasonable time after you find them. These periods do not limit any right you have under the law, including your rights as a consumer, which you can exercise within the time the law allows.
7.3If goods are damaged, wrong, short, faulty or not as described in the quotation, we will replace them or refund you for them, whichever you prefer, at no extra cost to you. For a shortage we send the missing quantity or refund it. If you would rather have a credit against a later order, we can give you one, but you are never obliged to accept a credit instead of a refund. If we cannot replace the goods, we refund you.
7.4For export orders, a quality claim also needs a retained sample sent for testing within 15 days of arrival.
7.5If we do not agree with your claim, we will explain why in writing, and you can take it further through our Grievance redressal policy or any other route the law gives you.
8.Returns
8.1Goods that were damaged, wrong, short, faulty or not as described are taken back if we ask for them, and we pay the return freight. We may also ask you to keep the goods or to dispose of them safely, with photos, instead of returning them, and refund you in the same way.
8.2Vermicompost is a natural, consumable product, so we cannot take back opened or used packs, or packs ordered by mistake, for a change of mind. Unopened, undamaged packs may be returned within 7 days of delivery by agreement with us, and the return freight is paid by the buyer. Please do not send anything back without our written agreement.
9.Your legal rights
9.1Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Sale of Goods Act, 1930, or any other law that applies to you.
