# Quality you can feel in your hands

Fine, even, fresh-smelling castings: that is what leaves the farm, and nothing else does.

## What we look at

- _Illustration: A round sieve shaking, fine castings falling through it into a growing heap while three stones stay on the mesh_  
### Texture  
Sieved to fine, even granules. No lumps, stones or plastic.

### Moisture  
Dried to a set level: alive enough to keep its microbes, dry enough to store.

### Smell  
Good vermicompost smells like fresh earth after rain. Anything else does not leave the unit.
